Basketball

Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, typically consisting of five players each, compete to score points by shooting a ball through the opposing team’s elevated hoop. The game is played on a rectangular court, with a hoop at each end. Players advance the ball by dribbling (bouncing the ball while running) or passing it to teammates. Points are scored when a player successfully shoots the ball through the hoop, which is situated 10 feet above the ground. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. Basketball involves a combination of physical skill, strategy, teamwork, and athleticism. The sport is governed by rules that define the playing style, scoring, fouls, and violations, fostering a dynamic and competitive environment.
