Право

Право (pravo) is the Russian term for “law.” It refers to a system of rules and guidelines that are created and enforced through social or governmental institutions to regulate behaviour. In a legal context, право encompasses the principles and standards that govern the conduct of individuals and institutions within a society. It includes statutes, regulations, and case law, as well as moral principles and ethical considerations that underpin legal systems. Право serves to maintain order, protect individual rights and freedoms, resolve disputes, and promote social justice. It can be categorized into various branches, such as criminal law, civil law, constitutional law, and administrative law, each addressing different areas of societal relations. Legal systems based on право can vary significantly from one jurisdiction to another, influenced by cultural, historical, and political factors.
