Natural Disasters

Natural disasters are severe, catastrophic events caused by natural processes of the Earth that result in significant damage to the environment, loss of life, and substantial economic impact. They can take various forms, including geological phenomena such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunamis; meteorological events like hurricanes, tornadoes, and blizzards; and hydrological occurrences such as floods and landslides. Natural disasters often lead to disruption of communities, destruction of infrastructure, and long-term environmental changes. They can also trigger subsequent hazards, such as fires following earthquakes or disease outbreaks after flooding. Response to natural disasters typically involves emergency management, disaster relief, and preparedness planning to mitigate their effects and aid affected populations.
